Donna you can use lowcostbeds to book
We are now staying at the Stena after Thomas Cook dropped us in it after over booking the Chrysoula even though we had booked last August (2008) for June & September this year (2009) only to get a phone call last week saying both were cancelled!!!!!!!......

I stayed at Stena Apartments in July 04 & July 05. We would like to revisit but since Golden Sun went bust we cannot find a tour operator who uses the Stena apartments. Could anybody point me in the right direction?

We have just come back from Kos - we were there from the 30 August 2006 for a week.
The location of the Apartments was great with a nice view of Kefalos and the sea from the first floor. The Apartments have no reception - so anything that you want really needs to be sorted out via your Rep. The owners are around occasionally, but communication is hard if like me you can't speak any Greek! The Apartments are a really good size, with a huge kitchen/dinner area when you first walk in, a large wardrobe, small bathroom and a good sized bedroom and balcony. They have a fridge (with a small freezer compartment), kettle and two cooking rings, no shower curtain in the bathroom though. You can hire a fan for 15 Euros and a safe deposit box for 10 Euros. You've got the option to keep the room on late - up until 8pm is 20 Euros and is well worth it if you've got a late night flight! There is no pool on site, but there is one at Kontessa Hotel which is just a few minutes down the road - the owners there are really friendly. They also exchange money and traverllers cheques at the Kontessa.
The Apartments are just a few minutes walk down to the sea front where there is a good choice of nice bars and restaurants. For us the location was really ideal - nice and quite but within easy walking distance of everything!

We got back from Stena Apartments last Wednesday and had a fantastic time. The rooms are basic but very clean. They are a great starting point to get to the pool (at Kontessa) and to the beach and super markets (all 5 minutes away). The bus stop is around the corner which takes you to paradise beach and kos town. (its worth getting the speed boat over to paradise beach - which takes you everyday at 10.30 am). Would definitely book these apartments again. Kefalos is lovely, you can either have it quiet or lively in the evening. Everyone was so friendly, especially Maria at the restaurant/bar Acropol. Next time I think we will have to hire a car as we did not get to do much sightseeing of this beautiful island.

| Hi to everyone. My parents are Stenas'owners. I would like to inform you that for more info please contant to 00302242071629 and ask for Maria (my sister). In 2004 we had a contract with Golden Sun which went bankrupted and we lost our money. In 2005we were working with individual customers (those that come without travel agencies). In 2006 I don't know if we are going to book with a travel agency or we are going to work with individuals!! But I am sure that everyone is wellcome!!! Contact and check the prices for various periods!!! Have a ggod summer!!! | |
